About von Guttsa Rottweilers
The people
Adam has over 20 years experience owning Rottweilers, and has been working towards establishing Von Guttsa since 2017. He has experience breeding other dog breeds.
Whilst Sally is new to breeding dogs, she brings over 20 years of experience as a wildlife biologist, and in the past has been responsible for establishing and maintaining captive fauna colonies meeting the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) requirements.
Our daughter brings ample enthusiasm and energy to help out, is in charge of play time and toy rotation, and is eager to ensure all our dogs and the pups we produce are accustomed to being around young children.
Philosophy and mission
We aim to produce healthy and happy Rottweiler family pets. We don’t show, but there’s nothing to say our dogs aren’t suitable, it just isn’t our thing. We want our dogs to be healthy and happy, and we want any offspring to make great family pets too.
Location
Our home is in the Adelaide Hills, on a small acreage. We are located 15 minutes from Stirling, and 40 minutes from Adelaide airport. Our dogs spend the day strolling through the gardens, and accompany us on walks in the paddocks. They are very used to both household and outdoor noises, including the odd rooster crow at sunrise.
Registration
We are registered members with Dogs Australia (formerly the Australian National Kennel Council, ANKC), under the prefix VONGUTTSA, member number 5100047027 via Dogs SA, and registered breeders with Dogs and Cats Online (SA Authority, DACO185686). Pups come with DogsAustralia papers, on Limited Register (not for breeding or show).
Ethics and commitments
All our dogs have hip, elbow and mouth certificates and have been tested to exclude JLPP. All puppies we produce will be registered with Dogs Australia.
Partner breeders
At present we use our own sire, Kovid from Shadowmaker Rottweilers. We’re currently on the hunt for the perfect sire for 2023 when two of Kovid’s girls should be ready to breed.
About the name
Guttsa (Pty Ltd) was founded in 1997, and is an industrial gutter relining business. The ‘Von’ was added to form our breeder name because, well, it sounds it sounds rather noble, not to mention German where the breed originated.
